Wildlife safari cabs to Palamau Tiger Reserve. Expert drivers, jungle-ready vehicles & flexible safari timings.
Spread across 1,026 square kilometers, Betla National Park is the crown jewel of Jharkhand's wildlife tourism. Located within the larger Palamau Tiger Reserve, this dense forest sanctuary sits roughly 170 kilometers west of Ranchi. The journey itself is an adventure — passing through tribal villages, sal forests, and the undulating terrain of the Chotanagpur plateau.
Unlike commercial wildlife parks, Betla retains a raw, untouched character. You will not find large tourist crowds here. Instead, you get silent jeep trails, the distant call of hornbills, and if fortune favors, the pugmark of a tiger pressed into the red laterite soil.
💡 Did You Know? Betla was one of the first national parks in India to become a tiger reserve under Project Tiger in 1974.

Betla offers two safari slots daily:
We recommend booking the morning slot, especially between March and June, when animals congregate around shrinking water sources. Carry binoculars, wear muted earth-tone clothing, and maintain silence inside the park. Our drivers coordinate with local guides to position your vehicle at the most active waterholes.
Most travelers extend their Betla trip to cover these nearby gems:
Comfortable walking shoes, insect repellent, sunscreen, a wide-brim hat, and a reusable water bottle are essentials. If visiting during winter (Nov-Feb), carry warm layers for early morning safaris when temperatures can drop to 8°C. Cameras with zoom lenses are highly recommended.
